Jubilee
In this year TWIF celebrated its 50th anniversary. To honor the occasion TWIF has published a special Jubilee Magazine.The  special edition is 35 page magazine covering the history of the tug of war sport, the Olympic period of the tug of war sport and the development of TWIF and its members.
Competitions
In this jubilee year, two World Championships were staged, the indoor and the oudoor championships.
The World Championships Outdoor in Pretoria, South Africa were selected as the event to celebrate the anniversary of the tug of war federation. Pretoria was a very suitable place for such a sport festival as the TWIF had very good memories of the excellent event staged in 2002 in Pretoria.
